Pictorial: Chelsea: Untouched

If you have been following my work for any length of time, you have probably realized that I like to shoot models that look pretty natural – not a lot of makeup or fancy poses. My goal as a photographer is to try to create images that look like they were from a ‘hidden observer’ viewpoint.

That is where the name ‘Glass Houses’ comes from. Imagine that you are living in a Glass House, and everything you do – private and intimate included – can be seen through the glass walls of your bedroom, your kitchen and your living room.

I started off shooting nude in nature, which is about as natural as it gets. It’s still one of my absolute favorite genres, and I will be blogging about several of my outdoor nude shoots.… View the full post...

Pictorial: Casting Jordyn

The impact of photos can be greatly influenced by the environment where they are taken. While I love both outdoor natural shoots, as well as having a growing appreciation for studio shoots, I wanted to create some images that literally strip away all of the background distractions and provide nothing more than the stark beauty of being nude.

This pictorial, titled ‘Casting Jordyn’ was inspired by Czech Casting, which is simply girls standing against a white background in stages of undress. I love the unedited natural look.

Don’t get me wrong – I appreciate a great location and the kind of artistic results it can bring, but I think there is also a place for natural, untouched and exposed beauty.

In some ways I think it’s harder to pose this way.… View the full post...

Nude Pictorial: Teenage Dream

Introducing Chelsea (19)

For her tender age, Chelsea has experienced a lot in life, and yet somehow finds the strength to rise up past her trials, and find her inner strength.

She is a beautiful girl, who doesn’t smile a lot, but when she does, you know it’s real.

Her outward appearance is of beauty, innocence and fragility. Chelsea has sparkling eyes that sometimes have you wondering what she is thinking about. While she can be distant in nature, it is apparent that it is like a wall built up to protect herself from unseen demons that might be lurking in the shadows.

Getting to know her, and breaking down that wall to find the true free spirit yearning to break out is part of the photographic journey that captures much more than just her beautiful body laid bare, but reaches deep into her soul to capture her raw emotions and feelings.… View the full post...

Model Interview: Cute Lilvibes

This is the first in a series of interviews with models I have worked with. It’s great to see the photos, but it’s always nice to learn a little bit about the models.

I shot with Cute Lilvibes in February 2020 at The Fancy Loft in Toronto.

GH: When did you start modeling nude?

CLV: I started modelling nude in July 2019

GH: Who is someone in the modeling world you look up to and why?

CLV: The first person to come to mind is @princessfierce. She is confident, powerful, and beautiful. She has great style and generally a great person to look up to.

GH: What’s been your favourite shoot so far? Why?

CLV: My favourite shoot was a shoot I did at a beach because the shots made me look so much more confident then I am and I feel more womanly if that makes sense haha

GH: What do you love the most about your body?View the full post...

Photo Shoot: Anja at Home

My last photo shoot before we all ended up staying home was with beautiful Anja, appropriately enough at her home.

It was the first photo shoot I have done at a model’s home, so I was not sure what to expect.

There are challenges in home shooting, mostly relating to lighting and space constraints. I shoot with my fixed focal length 50mm/1.4 lens, which is my favorite, and it is pretty forgiving in low light conditions. The down side is that it’s hard to get back far enough sometimes, especially in more confined spaces.

As most of my photo shoots have been either outdoors or in fairly large open studios, it hasn’t been a problem, but if I do shoot more in smaller spaces, I’m definitely going to need a new wide angle lense.… View the full post...

Self Image

So I thought I would start my blogging with some of my own observations and thoughts about self image. It’s a real thing, and the funny thing is that pretty much everyone I meet has the same kind of thoughts about themselves. Whether they are a new model, or a published Playboy playmate, very few people don’t see themselves as ‘flawed’ in some way.

My tits are too small, my tits are too big, they are lopsided, I look fat. I look too skinny. You can see my scars. My teeth are crooked/dirty. I’m not pretty enough. I wish I looked like her.

Listen – I get it. After all this ‘Stay at Home’ stuff started, I have been using Zoom for conference calls and I look at everyone and see myself as the ugliest guy on the call, with a big ugly nose and lines on my face, a crooked eye and a frown most of the time.… View the full post...
